Young Voices Concert Choir-Anaheim, CA Heritage Choral Music

Young Voices of Northeast Louisiana is an organization dedicated to developing musical artistry in every child through the singing of choral repertoire. Young Voices offers a Concert Choir for all children (boys and girls) in 5th-12th grades, and an Advanced Women's Ensemble for girls in 8th-12th grades.  

Weekly rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at North Monroe Baptist Church, 210 Finks Hideaway Road, Monroe, LA.  

Young Voices of Northeast Louisiana is all about musical excellence, fun, friendships, and creating lifelong cherished memories!

Hi, new and potential singers and families!  My name is Lea Sheppard, and I have been involved in the music education of children in Northeast Louisiana for over 18 years. I received my BA in Music in 2005 from Ouachita Baptist University and my MA in Teaching in 2006 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 

I have taught private voice and piano lessons and classes, served at various local churches as a worship leader, and worked for the past  12 years as an elementary, middle school, and high school music teacher and choir director in the Ouachita Parish School district. I am currently the elementary music and choir director at Ouachita Christian School.  

Four years ago, I was blessed to have the opportunity to chase after my dream and found Young Voice of Northeast Louisiana.  This group is my heart and my passion, and I hope to be able to continue to serve our region through the gift of music for many years to come! 

I have been a Monroe resident my whole life, I love the children of NELA, and I would love you and your family to join us in this musical, educational, and service-oriented opportunity!
